This Privacy Policy explains how Selfki ("Selfki", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use our mobile app and website (the "Service"). Selfki is a daily selfie competition available to users worldwide. We are committed to protecting your privacy wherever you are.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
• Content you create: the selfies you upload, and the votes and reports you submit.
• Profile data: username and any optional information you add.
• Usage data: competitions entered, rankings, points and in-app activity.
• Device & technical data: device type, operating system, app version, and coarse, non-precise location inferred from your IP address for security and anti-abuse.
• Purchases: subscription status processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your card details.

3. How we use your data

• To operate the daily competition — publishing your selfie to other users and counting votes.
• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To moderate content and enforce our Community Guidelines, including automated screening for inappropriate images.
• To prevent fraud, bots, fake accounts and vote manipulation.
• To send you essential service emails (account verification, password reset, launch updates you signed up for).
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where the GDPR applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), for our legitimate interests (security, moderation, improving the Service), to comply with a legal obligation, and with your consent where required (for example, optional marketing emails).

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Other users: your selfies, username and ranking are visible to participants, as that is the nature of the competition.
• Service providers: hosting, storage and email delivery partners who process data on our behalf under contract.
• Authorities: where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

6. International transfers

Selfki is a global service and your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited information to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. See Delete your data.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right, contact info@selfki.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children

Selfki is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords and access controls. No method of transmission is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above. Significant changes will be communicated within the app or by email.
